What an amazing weekend we had as a family. Hopefully this goes without saying…life continued as usual but it was certainly peppered with new memories. I share mother’s day with my firstborn which is quite symbiotic if you ask me. I LOVE that I had her so close to mother’s day. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I never like the spotlight. But I treasure this shared holiday/birthday celebration each year.
For her birthday my eldest daughter wanted a spa themed birthday party. As a plain jane I didn’t quite know what to do, except google. I googled away over the past several months gleaning from other’s past experience with spa birthday parties. Apparently they are a thing. Amazon.com even had a butt load of product centered around such a theme. In fact I’m going to share with you some of the wonderful items that we used!
But first, let me share a few photos from the party. I had so much fun putting together this party. I kept it simple and invited a few close friends and kept it small. Low key, easy, and enjoyable.
Thanks to my mom for hosting the party. She has a much larger house which made this party much more enjoyable for me.
For mother’s day I was able to sleep in for a couple hours and was given coffee and donuts, yum! Later in the evening we had a relaxing and delicious dinner over at my brother and sister in law’s home. They were so sweet to have my entire family, parents, and my brother over. My dad and I even learned that mixing Mike’s hard lemonade and cheap red wine is an epic sangria hack!
Happy Mother’s day to all who are celebrating!
